João Filipe to Receive 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award at African Energy Week

01/10/2026

The African Energy Week (AEW) Conference and Exhibition has announced that João Filipe, Founder and CEO of CABSHIP, will be honoured with the *2026 Lifetime Achievement Award* during this year’s Gala Dinner & Awards in Cape Town in October.

Filipe is being recognized for his contribution to strengthening Angola’s local participation in the oil and gas sector and for developing CABSHIP into a competitive Angolan company serving major international industry players.

Established by Filipe in 2009, CABSHIP began with maritime services at the Port of Cabinda and has since developed into a diversified provider of logistics, supply chain management, petroleum materials management, warehousing, procurement and offshore support services.

Over the years, the company has supported major operators, including Chevron, Azule Energy and Etu Energias, while expanding its presence across Cabinda, Soyo and Luanda. CABSHIP has also increased its operational capabilities through investments such as a 50,000-square-metre fabrication yard near Malongo and offshore marine support activities.

Technology remains an important part of the company’s development, with AI and digital solutions being introduced to improve logistics, cargo visibility, planning and project delivery.

Beyond business growth, Filipe has focused on developing Angola’s future workforce. Through a partnership with the National Petroleum Institute, CABSHIP supports specialized training for young professionals from several Angolan provinces in areas including renewable-energy electrical systems and international welding.

The award highlights Filipe’s contribution to local content development, skills building and the growth of Angolan businesses within the energy industry.
